Universiade Taipei Athletics Stadium Project

Client: New Construction Office, Public Works Department, Taipei City Government

Project Description:

This project involved the renovation of the existing Taipei Athletics Stadium and warm-up field to meet the requirements of the 2017 Summer Universiade. Upon completion, the venue obtained IAAF Class 1 certification and Chinese Taipei Athletics Association venue certification, serving as the competition and warm-up facility for the event.

Additionally, the diving competition venue was upgraded at the Shi-Xin Hall diving pool in the Tianmu campus of the University of Taipei. The renovation included:

• Steel-structured elevators
• Night lighting systems
• Athlete rest areas
• Shower and sanitation facilities

Despite a tight 6-month construction schedule and challenging conditions, the project was successfully completed on time and with high quality, fully meeting Universiade standards. As a result, it received the prestigious "17th Public Construction Golden Quality Award – Excellence Award" from the Public Construction Commission, Executive Yuan, often referred to as the "Oscars of the Engineering Industry".
